Experienced Medication Aide/CNA (Vancouver, WA)

Glenwood Place Senior Living is now accepting applications for CNAs with experience in medication administration. Please read the requirements carefully, only qualified applicants will be considered.
Requirements:
- Must be a current WA Certified Nursing Assistant.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- 2-3 years experience working with memory-impaired elders preferred.
- Completes all training required for position and remains current.
Preference given to those with current certificates:
Nurse Delegation for Nursing Assistants
Nurse Delegation, Special Focus on Diabetes
Mental Health for Caregivers
Dementia for Caregivers
Fundamentals of Caregiving
CPR/First Aid
WA Food Handlers Card
- Has the ability to attend trainings as required for medication aide responsibilities.
- Must have confirmed 2-3 years work experience with medication administration.
Language Skills: Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Skills: Basic computer knowledge for the implementation of resident information electronic record keeping. Experience working with electronic MAR is a plus.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1. Performs resident care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard of care for the specific needs of the resident.
2. Demonstrates the ability to perform treatments and provide services to level of education/certification and within their scope of practice.
3. Works cooperatively as a member of the nursing team, completes all documentation in a timely fashion.
4. Demonstrates the ability to identify behaviors that require intervention and notifies RN/MD when further evaluation is warranted.
5. Follows procedures and protocols
6. Possesses the skills of re-directing and able to show respect and maintain resident's dignity.
7. Performs all aspects of resident care in an environment that optimizes resident's safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
8. Determines unit supplies and maintenance needs and submits requisitions as indicated.
9. Documentation meets current standards and policies.
