CNA, Caregiver PT Sundays (Henderson)

Seeking a CNA/PCA with a minimum of one year "verifiable" experience as a caregiver for a part time position in a private home in Henderson.

This is a part-time job, Sundays and possible additional hours as backup to the main caregiver. Please apply for this job if you live close to zip code 89015 -- that's about 5 minutes southeast of the Fiesta Henderson (towards Boulder City).

You would be working with a female patient Sundays from 11:00 a.m. or noon to 5:00 or 6:00 p.m. Patient has emphysema, a heart condition and diabetes. She walks very slowly and uses a walker.

If you are energetic and have an outgoing personality, but also know when to give a patient, their personal space, you might be a good fit for the job.

There is a possibility of additional hours as needed backing up the main caregiver.

Duties would include:

Waking up patient each morning

Assisting her in choosing daily clothing -- she will bathe, groom and dress herself

Preparing ceral for breakfast or taking her out to eat

Taking blood pressure

Checking oxygen level

Checking blood sugar

Asking if she took her medication

Running errands

Shopping at market

Taking her to Dr. appointments

Taking her out to eat, shopping or socializing

Helping her transfer to wheelchair and van. Transferring -- not picking her up. Watching her and helping her with balance while she gets in or out of chair.

Pushing her in a wheelchair (she weighs about 115 lbs.)

Light housekeeping

Laundry

Companionship is one of the most important things.
It is very important to find someone who she enjoys talking to, but will also be observant and able to step back to allow her to watch television if she is engrossed in it.

We are seeking someone with a

- Professional, compassionate, mature, but friendly personality

- A minimum of one year of caregiving experience or PCA/CNA certification

- 2 employment references

- Fluent English speaking

- Current CPR/First Aid card

- Current DMV driving record (from NV DMV)

- Proof of auto insurance and an auto

- Current NV Drivers License

- Social Security Card or other W-9 acceptable documentation

- Ability to pass a background screening process
