CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT
This position requires interviewee to have the ability to work awake overnight shifts plus some day & evening shifts. You will also be on-call and must be able to work weekends as well in our rotation. Shifts run 6 hours but no more than 12 hours and will start position part-time with the potential to move into full-time.

POSITION DESCRIPTION~
You will report to our Nurse and Directors. However, you will be managed by your residents. As your nurse and director also work for the residents who reside in the assisted living.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Providing direct care to vulnerable adults in Assisted Living residence while providing a fun, caring and nurturing environment.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Reads and follows the established plan of care which may include:
Communication skills
Observation, reporting and documentation of resident status, and the care or service furnished
Reading and recording of temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure
Basic infection control procedures
Basic elements of body functioning and changes in body function that must be reported to RN Supervisor
Maintenance of a clean, safe and healthy environment
Recognize emergencies and knowledge of emergency procedures
The physical, emotional and developmental needs of and ways to work with the populations served, including the need for respect for the patient, his or her privacy and his or her property
2. Demonstrate appropriate and safe techniques in personal hygiene and grooming that include:
Sponge, tub or shower bath
Shampoo in sink or tub
Nail and skin care
Oral hygiene
Toileting and elimination
Safe transfer techniques and ambulation
Normal range of motion and positioning
Adequate nutrition and fluid intake
Assistance with dressing and undressing
3. Perform additional delegated tasks upon completion of instruction and return demonstration.
4. Prepare meals for residents of assisted living, including modified diets such as diabetic or low sodium.
5. Complete household chores.
6. Is aware of and uses good safety practices, including but not limited to:
Body mechanics
Reporting of defective equipment or hazards
Wiping spills or wet floors immediately
Using Universal Precautions and appropriate infection control measures
Knowledge of emergency procedures
Reporting incidents/accidents to the RN Supervisor or Administrator on the day of occurrence
7. Assists with self-administration or administration of medications by resident.
8. Participates in care conferences with other members of the health care team.
9. Maintains absolute confidentiality of all information pertaining to residents, families, and employees.
10. Documents as indicated in clinical record.
11. Plans and facilitates activities for residents to enhance socialization.
12. Assists with personal communication skills as needed.
13. Promotes a safe and comfortable environment for the resident and family.
14. Recognizes and manages own stresses, which may affect work performance.
15. Participates in in-service educational programs, as required by state regulations.
16. Performs additional duties as assigned by the Administrator
17. Adheres to all Company policies
EXPERIENCE/JOB SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
Requires High School Graduate or higher, prefer some medical background
CNA course completion & Certification
Background check
Satisfactory completion of competency test
Must be able to read, write, comprehend and conduct directions and instructions
Able to function effectively with minimal direct supervision
Good health status and emotional stability
Demonstrate a strong commitment to resident service and service excellence Location: Minnetonka, MN
