If so, the College of Medical Arts wants to hear from you.
We have an IMMEDIATE NEED for a theory/clinical instructor at our very successful Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program in Auburn, California. We are looking for individuals with a commitment to education, nursing care and the ability to work in a team centered environment.
The main responsibilities for our instructors include:
Theory – Preparation of the lesson plan as outlined in the College of Medical Arts lesson plan. – Ability to employ multiple teaching strategies, and make adjustments as needed. – Ability to evaluate student progress by monitoring class participation, test results, homework and adherence to the attendance policy. – Ability to address areas of improvement and communicate with students in a positive manner how they can improve. – Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email and internet.
Clinical – Ability to communicate and interact in a professional manner with the staff and administration at the clinical site facility. – Determining the appropriate clinical activities in accordance with the College of Medical Arts instructional plan. – Effectively supervise students during clinical rotation. – Ability to demonstrate procedures in either a skills lab or clinical setting. – Willingness to step in and perform procedures as a means of showing students what they need to learn. – Evaluation of student performance in clinical rotation in terms of students’ ability to learn skills and perform them in an effective and safe manner.
Qualifications – Active and current California RN or LVN license – Minimum of two years nursing experience: One year experience in long-term skilled nursing facility providing direct patient care; and – One year of planning, developing and implementing educational programs – Director of Staff Development (DSD) Certification or transcript of college courses related to teaching or 24 hours of continuing education course approved by the Board of Registered Nursing course in planning, implementing and evaluating nurse education programs.
