POSITION PURPOSE
The position of Certified Nursing Assistant provides professional, compassionate, quality care for residents
REQUIREMENTS
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant
• Must be in good physical condition
• Must be able to demonstrate skills commensurate with job requirements
• Must enjoy working with residents and residents families
• Must be able to follow oral and written directions.
• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English
• Training required upon hire
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Must complete 12 hours of continued education courses annually
• Assist residents with the Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
• Implements and supports resident care-plan.
• Provides routine care, and personal care such as bathing, dressing and feeding.
• Provide residents with transfers and help moving in and out of beds, baths, wheelchairs or automobiles.
• Change bed linens, wash and iron residents' laundry and help keep residents' room, closet, and dresser drawer's tidy.
• Converse with residents and participate in resident activities
• Report to work 15 minutes ahead of shift to conduct "walk through" with previous caregiver
• Must maintain a professional approach to responsibilities (ex: uniform, start times, absenteeism, confidentiality, communication with residents, family members, other staff members, and vendors and daily work responsibilities).
• Must work well individually and as part of a team
• Must participate in maintaining a harmonious work environment
• Weekend and holiday work required for full time positions
• Assist with Resident room, resident bathroom, and common area cleanliness and housekeeping duties
• Other duties as assigned.
GENERAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Sitting -- 5%
Standing -- 90%
Lifting -- 5% must be able to lift a minimum of 100 lbs
