The Terraces at Los Altos (65 beds skilled nursing facility) seeks Certified Nursing Assistants who have experience working in a Continuing Care Retirement Community. Three (3) on-call positions are available. Must provide good customer service and be willing to work as a team player.
CNA's perform the following job functions:
- Assists residents with personal hygiene and grooming;
- Provides assistance in resident care including cleaning and bathing, personal hygiene, dressing residents, bed making, taking blood pressure, assisting in ambulating, grooming, helping to activities and other functions;
- Maintains awareness of client's condition and keeps charge nurse informed;
- Assists residents getting to and from meals;
- Encourages and assists clients in self care activities;
- Escorts and assists residents to social activities or events and/or appointments;
- Participates in admission and discharge procedures;
- Assists nurses and other staff, as needed;
- Maintains daily records;
- Assists with emergencies and with safety instruction for residents such as fire drills;
- Answers telephones and assists visitors;
- May participate in care plan meetings;
- Attends in-service training workshops and meetings as required;
- Conducts work tasks safely and in compliance with the facility safety program;
- Provides effective and courteous service to all residents, guests and co-workers;
- Promotes and protects the rights of each resident.
Minimum Training and Experience: Vocational/technical training; must have Nursing Assistant Certification from the State of California.
Must have knowledge of the following:
- the infectious disease control policies;
- personal hygiene protocol;
- policies and procedures concerning resident care and of carrying out the procedures correctly;
- CD9MC coding;
- record keeping duties regarding residents that must be performed.
