Direct Care Job Description
Requires a high school diploma/GED or its equivalent; training in CPR and First Aid; CPI or MANDT. The Direct care employee will support the role of the consumer to do as much of their activity of daily living (ADL's) as possible. If the consumer is unable to complete, then the direct care employee will assist.
•The job is designed to meet the maintenance needs of consumers with chronic disabilities conditions who need assistance with activities of daily living for example (bathing, grooming, cleaning, cooking etc.)
•Assist with recreation and education
•Escort and transport to physician appointments
•Ensure all clients are clothed appropriately in regards to weather and personal style
•Keep residential area clean
•Keep clients clothes orderly and in good condition
•Report signs and symptoms of illness to health care staff
•Meet with multidisciplinary team as requested
•Must pass CPR, first aid and medication training
•Mobility/transfer
•Toileting/Continence
•Bathing/Personal Hygiene
•Medically related household tasks
VALID DRIVERS LICENSE WITH a dependable automobile and insurance
Be able to pass BACKGROUND SCREENING /FAMILY CARE SAFETY REGISTRY and drug test
