Your high school diploma or GED is NOT a requirement for this program.
Registration will be held Tuesday, January 24 at 9:00 a.m. SHARP! We begin promptly and seating is limited, so be sure to arrive early and plan to stay until 1:00 p.m.

THE EMPOWERMENT ZONE covers certain areas of Baltimore City, which includes only some parts of East Harbor, Historic East Baltimore, Harlem Park/Lafayette Square, Poppleton, Sandtown-Winchester, and Washington Village Pigtown. Your specific street address MUST be listed in the approved Street Directory guide for the Empowerment Zone.

PROGRAM INFORMATION
For 14 years, It Works Learning Center, Inc. has trained and placed thousands of graduates in jobs in and around Baltimore. It Works is licensed by and in good standing with the Maryland Higher Education Commission and the Maryland Board of Nursing.
To qualify, you need to live in Baltimore's Empowerment Zone, be at least 18 years of age, have a clear criminal background and clear drug screen. You do NOT need a High School Diploma or GED to qualify.

You need to dress professionally, so please do NOT wear jeans, denim, T-shirts or other casual or inappropriate clothing. Scrubs are always acceptable attire in the healthcare setting. Also, remove any and all facial and mouth piercings, other than 1 small earring per ear. Please remove and fake, false, acrylic or gel nails, and do your best to cover visible tatoos. Please do not bring any children or guests, as we do not provide childcare and space is limited.
This will be a 5 week, full-time, day class, held Monday - Friday from 9:00am to 3:00pm. Class is scheduled to begin Tuesday, January 31, 2012 and is expected to graduate Friday, March 2, 2012. There are a total of 140 training hours, including clinical rotation. The schedule is always subject to change.
Your tuition, textbooks, stethoscope, nurse's watch, class supplies, CPR and license fees are all included. Please feel free to bring any friends and family that may also be eligible for this free program.
Please try to bring all of the following things with you:
1. Your Maryland picture ID, and, if you've recently moved, your MVA change of address card, with your Empowerment Zone address
2. Your Social Security Card
3. Your Birth Certificate, Passport or Permanent Resident/Green Card
4. Proof of address, such as a current utility bill, credit card or bank statement or other business document from a company or government agency that lists your name and Empowerment Zone address
A High School diploma or GED is not a requirement for this course; however, you should bring one if you have it. If you do not have all of your documents, you should still attend the registration.
